Just another day in my life…

Remembering Remi…

Remi the Wonder Dog showed up online one day when I was just looking around the MinPin Rescue site. There she was, with that special look. The description said she had been in several foster homes for about 2 years. I couldn’t believe it…she was described as a wonderful, loving, fun dog who just wanted to please. Immediately I shot a message to the foster mom asking about Remi, and set up a play date for the coming weekend, since she was located about 2 hours from us.

We went to Pompano Beach on Saturday, met Remi and, of course, it was love at first sight. She was adorable and friendly. So we did all the paperwork and brought that baby home home with us.

Remi fit right in with our other 2 doggies, Nena and Rosi. They all bonded quickly and became loving sisters immediately. Remi was the best guard dog ever! And most of all, Remi was so tuned in to my emotions, I could always count on her to be there for me if I was down, depressed, crying, happy, whatever. If I cried, she would come to me right away and snuggle up, giving me kisses, making me feel better. What a wonderful, wonderful girl she was.

Remi was about 3 yrs old when we got her, and she lived to be 13 yrs old, taken from us too soon by diabetes that escalated.

Rest In Peace, my darling girl. You are always in my heart.
